Our costume idea sucks the life out of movie night. 🧛 Count Buffer-ula's dramatic entrance should start any minute now. If he ever shows up, don’t invite him into your home.

We’re much more interested in math when there’s candy involved. 🍬 Mbps and Gbps both measure how much data can move per second, but a bigger number doesn’t always mean a faster speed. 1,000 Mbps equals 1 Gbps.

Tonight’s movie night recommendations will have you starting with “look at the detail in that set” and ending with “why are we crying?” 🖤 Frankenweenie, Co**se Bride, and The Nightmare Before Christmas are on our Halloween stop-motion watchlist. Get that blanket ready, and maybe some tissues, too.

This costume idea comes with an excuse to stop talking halfway through a sentence. A little frost makeup, a cardboard call frame, and suddenly you’re everyone’s least favorite part of a meeting. 🧊

We want monsters tonight, but we also want to walk down the hallway without turning every light on. 🍿 Hotel Transylvania, Monsters, Inc., and The Nightmare Before Christmas are on our watchlist for tonight. We’re giving the monsters the screen but keeping the blanket for ourselves. 🎃

We’re nosy about what carries our late-night scary movie marathons. Inside a fiber cable are glass fibers with light traveling through their cores. Cladding helps guide that light, and the outer jacket protects the fibers. 🎃 A lot happens before the opening credits, but at least it happens at ultrafast speeds.

We’re protective of our Halloween candy and the good part of a movie. 🎃 Internet data travels in small pieces called packets. When some don’t arrive, that’s packet loss. A movie may pause to buffer while the missing data is sent again. It's like getting halfway down the street and realizing we have to go back for the missing candy that didn’t make it into our bag.

We miss when finding out you were a witch seemed like a reasonable possibility. 🎃 Now we’re streaming Twitches over fiber and waiting for a magical relative to explain why we still have to do the dishes.

Three ways to spend an evening with the dead, depending on how spooky you want to get. Here are our favorite friendly ghosts to stream this weekend. 👻🍿

A school laptop might be able to talk to the TV on your Wi-Fi, while the school still has no automatic way into that TV. The router and device settings control the local conversation. The school policy and the laptop's setup control what follows the laptop.
