Different access systems aren’t the problem. Multiple credentials are.

The property, parking, and tenant can each run their own system. But when those systems don’t trust the same credential, the complexity gets passed to the employee in the form of another card.

Make interoperability a procurement requirement, not a hope. Ask the next supplier:

- Which products support Aliro?
- What is available on this product today?
- Can installed readers be upgraded, or is this a new-buy path?
- Who controls credential trust and reader trust in the deployed design?

An open specification does not make every product, or every existing door, ready. Every new deployment either extends a proprietary dependency or makes the later transition cheaper. That choice is available now.

An open standard does not erase the installed base.

A global estate still has owned sites, leased floors, factories, and doors the enterprise does not control. Some readers will gain Aliro through an upgrade. Some will not. A legacy prox reader does not read Aliro because the organization started issuing it.

A credible plan starts with coexistence. New credentials can carry Aliro alongside the technologies a site still needs. New reader purchases can be scored for a standards path, not only for this year’s bid.

At GSX, Jason Hart showed Safetrust’s migration card with Aliro and legacy applications on the same credential, so issuance can start before every door has changed. Those legacy applications are independently developed. They are not third-party credentials. Aliro itself still requires an Aliro-capable reader.

This is a multi-year infrastructure program. It is also a decision you can make on the next purchase. One credential through the mix. No next re-badge. The last migration from proprietary credential technology your enterprise will need.

On October 28 at 11 AM PT, Safetrust shows Aliro Connect. Your team keeps adding and removing people in the access system. Safetrust issues the credential and turns it off when access changes.

Treat the badge like an organizational passport.

The enterprise establishes a trusted identity. Other operators decide whether and where to accept it. They do not receive the private keys.

Interoperability does not mean the credential opens every door. Each operator still makes its own access decision.

That is the model Jason Hart argued for at GSX, and the one Aliro makes possible.

An employee parks, crosses the lobby, takes the elevator, and badges into the tenant floor. That person sees one building.

The property runs the lobby. Parking is often a separate system. And the tenant runs the suite. Those systems do not accept each other’s cards, so the employee has to carry two or three.

Aliro does not collapse these access systems into one. It removes the requirement that each system issue its own credential. And the employee gets one journey:
