🔑 Sometimes the right component makes all the difference.

We recently had a 2023 Hyundai Tucson that needed a flip key. We had the correct OEM remote, but discovered it was the non-transponder version — and this Tucson requires a PCF7938X transponder.

We tried generating an aftermarket programmable chip as a 7938X, but the vehicle wouldn’t accept it.

So we went back to OEM. The correct standalone chip was difficult to source, so we purchased an OEM chipped key, used it as a donor for the correct transponder, and installed that component into the Tucson flip key.

Success. The transponder programmed perfectly, the remote programmed separately using Hyundai Type 2 programming, and everything works exactly as it should. ✅

Sometimes automotive locksmithing requires a little electronics-repair thinking. Thirteen-plus years of phone repair comes in handy. 😎
