Queen Elizabeth II, 1926 – 2022

Today we will be watching the funeral of our former monarch, who for seven decades ruled over the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms, and was beloved by millions around the globe. Characterised by her steadfast sense of duty, and her compassion and humility, which, combined with her sparkling smile, charm and humour, brought humanity to her dignity. She will be much missed.

Her legacy will live on in King Charles III, and his promise of lifelong service, inspired by the example of his mother.

Rest in Peace Your Majesty, our gratitude is immense.

…. .. good to see that most data engineers and programmers are actually even better remunerated (proportionally) - than they were even in years past … just illustrates the power of STEM-type disciplines .. but very good to see that even those answerable to the larger employers are doing well in this recent, third or fourth technological boom .. a bright spot in an otherwise somewhat dismal economic climate … I’m convinced that we need a Silicon Valley in the UK …. and by that I mean one with actual, original ideas, in a word, or in a couple of words - REAL INNOVATION .... I doubt that’ll ever happen organically but it is good to see talented people fairly-compensated for their considerable time and expertise ..

Charles Hoskinson ( Cardano developer/founder ) explains some of the dynamics of crypto assets and the difficulty in regulating something so intricately decentralised, does it quite nicely here

… I think the main takeaway is something I’ve believed for a long time: that governments have no choice but to work with Blockchain developers if they hope to have even a modicum of control over any part of the industry in future .. well worth watching ..

... yeh ... there's certainly an ethical imperative intrinsic in any economic system that's regulated only by those who develop it; I like to tell my colleagues that maybe it's a chance to get it right this time; stay away from the more self-serving apparatuses that the old sovereign currencies had spawned and maybe be prepared to be both guarantor and fiduciary watchdog .. article discusses lots of things I've thought about as the Blockchain develops .. .. well worth the read ...

.. better late than never .... and good to see government moving at their usual efficiency .. .that’s why I don’t worry about regulation: if it takes them this extended period of time ( nearly 14 years ) to even acknowledge something intangible represents ‘money’ - just like BONDS and SHARES or electronic bytes in your bank account always have .. certainly there’s no danger of any deliberative or regulatory body suddenly becoming EFFECTIVE , is there .? Nahh .. ( we could easily design BOTS to replace them of course .. but I think reliably inefficient government is rather comforting ... .) …. but this is good .. hopefully a tiny step towards developers going in the direction of designing products that encourage long term equity and greater market stability ..
