NASA is the perfect example. Hackers tried to get in, but the attack failed because NASA had already patched the targeted software. That's an important distinction in cybersecurity. An attempted attack is not the same as a successful breach. And sometimes, the security measures already in place are exactly what stop an attack from becoming a disaster.
