Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month, Sincere Foundation Program Manager, Julia Chase, went to Project Bread in East Boston to visit Shannon Healey, Director of Institutional Giving and Ian Isaac, Senior Manager, Foundation Relations. They toured the spacious two-story office including two areas dedicated to their main programming:
☎️ FoodSource Hotline: As the only state-wide, toll-free hotline, counselors help low-income individuals and families enroll in SNAP and connect callers to immediate nutritional resources in their communities.
🍎 Child Nutrition: Project Bread helps kids and teens access healthy food year-round by maximizing participation in school meals and Summer Eats, a program that provides free meals to kids when schools are closed.

Grant Spotlight: Since 1995, Waltham Fields Community Farm has built sustainable relationships between people, their food supply, and the land with programs that expand food access and strengthen community connections. They offer subsidized CSA shares, produce prescription programs, fresh food donations to local organizations, and Mobile Outreach Markets.

We are proud to support Waltham Fields Community Farm in their mission to ensure more neighbors receive healthy, locally grown food.

Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month, Sincere Program Manager Julia Chase visited Beverly Bootstraps to meet with Allison Caffrey, Executive Director & Emily Zango, Development Director. They toured the food pantry, warehouse, classroom and meeting spaces, and robust thrift store. One of the highlights of the tour was the discussion about their new Automated Refrigerated Food Locker program, which offers 24-hour access to pre-ordered groceries at convenient local locations and provides flexibility for varied schedules. Beverly Bootstraps remains committed to addressing hunger and promoting health through a variety of food assistance programs.

In honor of Pride Month, we would like to highlight the work of BAGLY Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth), a recent Sincere Foundation grant recipient. BAGLY is youth-led, adult-supported nonprofit dedicated to the creation of safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. For nearly 50 years, BAGLY has offered advocacy programs, free health services, and leadership opportunities at their Boston Community Center and across Massachusetts. 💜🏳️‍🌈💚

Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month Sincere Foundation Program Manager Julia Chase visited WE CAN at their Hyannis branch. WE CAN is a Cape Cod nonprofit that empowers women to build pathways to stability and self-sufficiency. Julia met with Kat Pannill, Senior Development Manager and Kaitlyn Brine, Development and Communications Coordinator who detailed WE CAN’s portfolio of services which include legal and financial guidance, career and business support, mentorship, and personal development programs.

Sincere On Site: Earlier this month, Sincere Program Manager Julia Chase, visited with Hannah Kahn, Grants Manager, at Housing Families Inc. in Malden, MA. She highlighted the nonprofit’s programming which includes 100 units of emergency family shelter, a 40-bed adult individual shelter, 138 units of permanent supportive housing, a street outreach program, a food pantry, a clinical mental health program, a therapeutic out-of-school time program, and a legal aid program focused on eviction defense and homelessness prevention.

Housing Families stands out for its “whole-person approach” to housing stability, and for its ability to offer holistic services under one organizational umbrella.

Sincere On-Site Visit: Sincere Foundation Program Manager Julia Chase recently visited Lower Cape Outreach Council (LCOC) in Orleans, MA. Executive Director Katie Wibby and Director of Development Gerry Desautels walked her through the recently renovated building including the expanded Katy’s Korner (a free clothing and household goods resource), Food Pantry, renovated administrative space, and community-partner meeting rooms. LCOC goes far beyond just food assistance to offer a true “one-stop shop” for individuals and families in need.
