As you may know Fountain Valley revoked Wisps permit to operate a wireless communication facility. This has severely limited us in doing upgrades and largely halted new customer installations.

This community, and our loyal customers, have rallied for Wisp on multiple occasions. It has been quite touching to have such a strong degree of support from so many of you. This means so much to us and we in turn are working relentlessly in our commitment to keep powering on.

We continue to assert that our antennas are completely legal and protected under federal laws. Therefore we have filed a petition for protection with the FCC and we're happy to tell you that the FCC accepted the case!

Now it's your opportunity. As part of this process they are soliciting for public comments. So please join us in making your voice heard on this national stage for Wisp to remain in our community.

Here are instructions to submit a comment to FCC for Wisps federal case. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CS2Ly3jjUDxdaBFTbbXs-8owq4xOKeuRXWOrF7gfImc/ =h.cq48pqhmjwlr

We thank all of you for your support and look forward to continuing to grow and improve our service within this community.

Sincerely,
David Rodecker

Last night the City Council sadly revoked our conditional use permit for a wireless facility permit with a variance. Although there is literally NO opposition to our tower, the 3 Councilpersons votes were based upon punitive reasons and with a completely disregard to public interests. The silver lining is that this formal denial allows us to escalate to the FCC. This effectively stays all precedings and allows us to maintain status quo. Nothing will be coming down while the FCC reviews the matter.

Now, here is where your help comes in! As you may know, there is great news from the FCC which has proposed WISP protections for fixed-wireless internet (OTARD) devices. We discovered yesterday that the City of Fountain Valley is railing against the FCC's proposed change. We've spoken to the FCC and they'd like to hear your feedback. This must be done TODAY as the FCC has a cut off date for replies that ends 7/17.

Use this form (https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings/express ) and fill in Proceeding: 19-71. In the comments field please just be candid. The FCC has real people that will be individually reading these.

Thank you for your continued support and we looking forward to keeping you connected.

The stars were very bright on Tuesday night at City Hall!..
And boy, were they heard loud and clear. Over 50 business owners and residents of Fountain Valley expressed a unanimous appeal to the Council to approve our conditional use permit.

For those who haven't seen it before, here is an up close glimpse of the Wisp Tower late on Tuesday night lit up by the backdrop of Orion's Belt.

It seems that we'll be waiting another full moon for what we hope will be a perfect alignment while the powers that be spin their course.

We look forward to continuing to serve this nice place while delivering stellar service.

WISP customers assemble! Don't be fooled though; each of these antennas are getting dedicated high speed synchronous bandwidth. One of them was slightly loose and needed an adjustment after the high winds. Help is always available.

Fountain Valley Bodyworks you rescue us when we crash our cars, we heard your internet crashed! Let us know if you'd like us to setup high speed internet today.

Yesterdays Planning Commission meeting was a resounding success and we owe it all to you! Despite the challenge set by the city requirements, we demonstrated that our antenna is 92% concealed from public right-of-way but moreover, because of your support we we're able to establish a permit and variance needed to continue to operate WISP in Fountain Valley. The letters, participation and counts of subscribers made a substantial difference in gaining unanimous approval. We understand that this was the most lively and longest hearing any of the Commissioners have seen in over 5 years. We'd especially like to thank the following for their support and testimony:
Kene Panas, Paula Moss, Dan Hoppy, Dan Madden from Silky Sullivan's Restaurant & Irish Pub, Warren, John Dr-Warren Chiropractor Health Center, Sasha Chavez, Wallace Rodecker, Gary Sahagen, Laurie Childress, Robert and Joanne Kleppe, Viviana Lemus, Michael Ramirez, Peggy Tabas, John Somers, Chris Fullerton, Paulo Santos, Gary Foreman of Fountain Bowl, Mary K. Parsons, Steven Schwartz, Alan Marcum and Glenn Grandis.

We look forward to our continued commitment to the community and thank you for your loyalty.

When we created WISP nearly two years ago we did so because of many of you, the businesses and residents in and around FV that are unhappy with the lack of options for internet. Our market is essentially monopolized by a single cable company, worse yet, most businesses suffer with copper wire DSL at a blazing 1.5mbps (on a good day)!

Having spent quite a bit establishing our own network and broadband connectivity, we decided to provide a cost-effective way to share it with our neighbors. We've been warmly received by the community and really enjoy sharing our commitment to provide affordable, no-nonsense fast, clean internet and phone services.

WISP is applying for city permits to maintain our wireless internet service. We are on the Fountain Valley planning commission agenda at City Hall THIS *Wednesday, October 10th @ 6PM*. It would be great to have your presence to show support for keeping our nice and affordable service in our nice place to live!
