👁️ SEE DESIGN DIFFERENTLY.

Join AIGA Dallas at the Dallas Museum of Art for Design Beyond Sight—an interactive fall field trip exploring accessibility, inclusive design, and how people with different visual abilities experience art and museum spaces.

During this hands-on experience:

✨ Erica Kress, Independent Disability Consultant and disability advocate, will share her personal experiences with accessibility and how empathy can help designers create more inclusive experiences.

👓 Melissa Brito-Alvarez, Manager of Access Programs and Resources at the Dallas Museum of Art, will introduce visual-impairment simulation glasses and lead us through the galleries to experience how visitors with varying levels of vision navigate museum spaces.

🖐️ We’ll explore the DMA’s tactile reproductions of artwork and learn how they were developed to make art more accessible to blind and low-vision visitors.

🎨 A DMA Exhibition Designer will take us through an exhibition from a designer’s perspective, exploring how accessibility influences layout, labels, wayfinding, braille, tactile elements, and multisensory experiences.

We’ll wrap up with Q&A and group discussion, followed by an optional off-site networking lunch.

📅 Sunday, November 22 | 11 AM–1 PM
📍 Dallas Museum of Art
1717 N Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75201

⚡ Only 20 spots are available! Grab your ticket early before this intimate field trip fills up.
