WordPress powers something like 43% of all websites and recently security researchers found a serious flaw nicknamed "wp2shell" that let hackers break into WordPress sites with zero login and zero warning, just by hitting a normal-looking part of the site. Worse, it was already being actively exploited before most site owners even knew a patch existed. WordPress pushed emergency updates and forced auto-updates for everyone, but if your site had auto-updates disabled, you're still exposed.
