My sweet grandma passed away this week. I was able to see her just an hour or so before she left this world. I’m so glad her soul is free.
Many of you that know me well also knew her. She was such a huge part of my life, my business, and my art. I’m so grateful to have had such a strong, kind woman in my corner. She was always eager to help with anything and everything. (The first day I got the keys to my shop on Broadway she came with tools and helped remove broken plaster, she was 84!) I loved getting to stop by her house for an afternoon glass of tea, a hug, and even our regular nightcaps.
My close friends all knew her and were always welcomed with tight hugs and smiles. After her engraving shop closed she started coming to my shop 2 days a week (at 86+ years old!).
We had such a deep connection and I’ve always described her as my soul mate. Seeing her struggle the last couple years was difficult and the loss is tough but I still feel so connected to her. I see her everywhere around me.
