Ransomware has evolved. AI is the new weapon.

ESET researchers recently discovered PromptLock, potentially the first AI-powered ransomware variant. Written in Golang and driven by hard-coded prompts, it can generate malicious scripts in real time across Windows, Linux, and macOS.

PromptLock may be just the beginning. AI is enabling attackers to scale faster, move smarter, and bypass traditional defenses. Cyber insurance alone will not close the gap.

At Cyberleaf, we are actively testing ways to defend against prompt-based exploits, jailbreaks, and AI-driven exfiltration.
