| 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙊𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝟭𝟬𝟭

A 9-5 isn’t for everyone. Sometimes, we crave freedom. More often than not, that’s why many want to become 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨. A good 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙧 is in tune with every aspect of the business: clients, coworkers, employees—everything. It’s a very humbling experience. The process isn’t easy. Sometimes you have support, and sometimes you don’t.

For example, if I create a logo for a new client that I worked really hard on, naturally, I’m going to feel very proud of myself and my skills. However, if the client ends up not liking it, how do I respond? Do I quit? Do I put it off and mope? You won’t always have a happy, satisfied customer.

With that being said, don’t be afraid to go back to the drawing board. You have to put your pride aside. Don’t be afraid to ask those follow-up questions. Be courageous, be bold, but most importantly, be humble.

| 𝙁𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨

One of the things I struggled with growing up was my 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨. My mind was all over the place, and it trickled into my professional life: stalling on emails, pausing meetings, pretty much making my time management disorganized.

That begs the question: Where does your 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨 lie? There are distractions all around us. The real question should be: what are you prioritizing?

In these times, remember to reel yourself back in.
Remove those distractions.
Put your phone on silent.

| 𝙍𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

𝙍𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 is not something we enjoy hearing or facing, but it is an inevitable part of life. Our first experiences with rejection often occur in relationships or within our families. However, if we look deeper, 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 often starts with feelings of neglect.

In our professional lives, how do we handle rejection? It's crucial to maintain a healthy separation between our business and personal identities. While these identities may seem similar, they possess different qualities.

For example, I am Jaquanne Peterson, owner of Peterson Marketing Group, but that role is separate from who I am and my values outside of business as a man of God. Sometimes, people choose not to move forward with me, and that's okay.

If we tie our sense of self-worth to how many times people say "yes" to us, we miss opportunities to learn and instead become rooted in the "no," otherwise known as 𝙍𝙀𝙅𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉.

Remember, rejection isn't always a negative thing. Sometimes, it is a blessing in disguise, redirecting us toward better opportunities. Not everything aligns with our goals, and that's perfectly fine.

Focus on personal growth and learn how to handle rejection. The more you develop yourself, the easier it becomes to see 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 as a stepping stone rather than a setback.

In business, true success isn't about a single lucky break or a perfectly executed plan. It's about 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚—the ability to push forward, adapt, and grow even when results aren't immediate.

We meticulously plan our operations, build strategic partnerships, and map out long-term goals. We project profits, strategize what to do with earnings, and envision the future. But here's the reality: your business is only as strong as your 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚.

Rarely does a venture become an overnight sensation. Most of the time, success is built step by step. When working with clients, I always emphasize the mindset of "𝙀𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 for the Long Haul."

The first few months after launching or reinventing your brand are all about learning. It's normal to question whether the effort is worth it if you don't see immediate results. But remember: 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 equals time.

Allow your business the time it needs to evolve. Stay proactive—don't be complacent! 𝙁𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨.

Progression comes with persistence. 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚.
