A stat worth sitting with: 98% of mid-to-large manufacturers are exploring AI. 20% feel prepared to use it at scale.
That 78-point gap is the entire opportunity in industrial AI, and it's why frontier AI labs just committed serious capital to enterprise deployment.
The gap exists because the AI products of the last two years were built for software companies, not shop floors. Generic platforms expect an internal AI team, which most mid-market manufacturers don't have. And data residency rules out cloud-based delivery for a big chunk of the industrial economy.
Closing the gap takes products built for the actual work, infrastructure that runs where the data has to stay, and economics that don't expect a research budget.
