For years, I remained silent while trying to handle this matter privately, professionally, and respectfully. I believed that innovation, hard work, and dedication to country would speak louder than politics.
I grew up seeing political leaders and families from different sides sit in the same backyard with my grandfather. His close friends included Sir Clement Maynard of the PLP, Pap Symonette of the UBP, which later became the FNM, and Sir Lynden Pindling, later known as the Father of the Nation. Because of that, I never grew up seeing political colors. I saw relationships, respect, national service, and the positive impact that comes from empowering all Bahamians.
That is why this matter is so important to me.
Sebastian Alliance Group approached a national small business agency as a client seeking support to expand an existing Bahamian fintech and technology solution designed to empower businesses across The Bahamas and the Caribbean. What began as a request for expansion assistance evolved into discussions surrounding innovation, customization, development, and national opportunity.
Then the government changed.
This documentary is not about attacking any political party. It is about asking an important national question:
If an agency is created to empower ALL small businesses, should politics decide who gets empowered?
This documentary presents a chronological timeline based on documented meetings, emails, development work, invoices, and public records. It reflects the journey of a Bahamian entrepreneur attempting to innovate, build, and create opportunities while navigating shifting systems and changing administrations.
The Bahamas has too much talent, intelligence, and innovation for opportunities to become selective, delayed, or politically influenced. Young entrepreneurs should feel encouraged to build, not discouraged from trying. Innovation should survive beyond elections.
This is bigger than one company.
This is about fairness.
This is about transparency.
This is about the future of Bahamian innovation.
