Tourette Syndrome can include motor or vocal tics that are often beyond a person’s control. While tics don’t define intelligence or professionalism, situations like phone interviews, virtual meetings, or other calls can feel especially stressful.

Mississippi Relay can help take the stress out of making important phone calls with services designed specifically for people with speech differences.

With Hearing Carry-Over (HCO), and IP Relay you have the option of typing out your message and having your words spoken on calls for you by a communications assistant.

IP Relay makes this calling option available on phones, tablets, or computers through the IP Relay app.

HCO offers the same style of calling service but through a landline HCO device.

During Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month, we recognize that everyone deserves communication options that reduce stress and support confidence. Accessible tools help people show up as the professionals they are! Learn more about our relay services for people with speech differences by visiting MississippiRelay.com

On World Parkinson’s Day, we recognize the importance of communication access for people living with Parkinson’s Disease 💙

Speech changes are a common part of Parkinson’s—affecting up to 90% of people as the condition progresses and often appearing early on. In fact, about 40% of newly diagnosed individuals report speech difficulties, sometimes even before motor symptoms are identified. *

For people who experience speech differences, Speech‑to‑Speech (STS) services are here to support them. STS connects users to trained relay operators who revoice the caller’s words when needed for clarity—making phone calls to doctors, family, workplaces, easier and more accessible.

Everyone deserves to be heard. Today, we raise awareness of tools that support dignity, independence, and connection 📞
