Real talk from someone who looks at small business websites all day: most of them are missing something. And I'm not saying that because I build websites. I'm saying it because I'd rather you know than not.

Sometimes it's small. The phone number isn't tappable. The photos are cropping wrong on phones. Sometimes it's bigger: Google's not sure what you do, or the AI tools people are asking for recommendations now can't read your site at all.

You wouldn't know unless someone told you. So I'm offering to tell you.

Free site audit report. Plain English, no strings, no call required. If nothing's wrong, I'll say that too.

Just DM me your website. That's it.

Just opened? Or been open a while and still fighting the website, the Google listing, the whole online thing?

Through September 30 we're taking $300 off our 3-page custom-coded site: home page, one service page, contact page. Built in 14 days, loads fast on phones, set up so Google and AI search can actually read it, and you own the code outright.

Here's why it pays for itself. LocaliQ's 2026 benchmark puts the average paid search lead at $66.69. At that rate the site covers its own cost in under two dozen leads, and every call after that is one you didn't buy.

A real website also changes what people trust you with. DreamHost's 2026 trust survey found people will spend about $177 through a business website versus $36 through a social page or DM shop. If you're taking jobs over Messenger right now, that gap is the ceiling on what people think you're worth.

Message the page and I'll walk you through what's included. Happy to just answer questions too.

What's the part of the online stuff you've been putting off longest?

Nobody calls to tell you they hired someone else.

That's the problem with an "okay" website. It doesn't break. It just quietly loses the comparison to whoever down the road looks a little more legit on a phone screen. You never see the jobs that went elsewhere, so nothing ever feels urgent.

But it compounds. 64% of people trust a business less after its website fails on them, and trust takes four good visits to build and two bad ones to lose (Queue-it). 8 in 10 home-service owners admit they don't know how to show up in AI search (Scorpion 2026, fielded by Dynata). 68% of Google searches now end without a click (SparkToro + Similarweb, 2026). The site that looks best gets the shrinking pool of clicks, then the review, then the referral. Every month you wait, the other guy's head start gets longer.

If your site is "fine," I'll show you what fine is actually costing. Free, no pitch:

A 15-point audit of your business website: speed, mobile, SEO, AI search visibility, conversion. Delivered in 24–48 hours. No sales pitch.

Here's a number that should bother anyone who runs a small business.

When people can't find your website, 42% of them go look at someone else. That's from a July survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers. Another 14% decide you're probably not a real business at all.

Now think about how you actually get customers. Word of mouth. Referrals. Someone's neighbor recommends you. Every one of those people does the same thing next: they Google you. If what comes back is a page with a few photos, or a site that takes ten seconds to load on a phone, a good chunk of them quietly move on. You never hear about it. The referral just doesn't turn into a call.

So you keep pushing for more referrals, when the leak is downstream of the referral.

Google sees it the same way. Whitespark just studied 1.8 million Google Business Profiles and found the ones with a website, description, hours, photos, and a claimed listing showed up in the local top 10 three times as often as the empty ones.

I'd rather fix the leak than tell you to work harder. Message me your business name and I'll search for you the way a customer would, then send you a short list of what they hit. No pitch. If it's all in order, I'll say so.

They looked for your website. Most didn't wait around.

A survey published in July asked 1,000 U.S. consumers what they do when they can't find a business's website. 42% said they look elsewhere. Another 14% said they assume the business isn't real. And 81% said a website matters to them, and that held across every age group, not just younger people.

Think about who those people are. They already wanted to hire you. Someone gave them your name, or they saw your truck, and they typed it into Google. Then they hit a dead end and called the next guy. A page doesn't fix that for most of them. It reads as "not quite established yet," even when you've been in business for twenty years.

It shows up in your Google rankings too. Whitespark just released a study of 1.8 million Google Business Profiles. The ones with the basics filled in, website included, landed in the local top 10 about three times as often as the empty ones. 13% versus 4%.

So if you run a solid business and Google isn't sending people your way, this is usually the reason. No site, or a site that's slow and hard to find on a phone. Both are fixable, and neither means starting over.

Message me your business name. I'll search for you the way a customer would and send you the short list of what they can't find. No pitch attached. If everything's in place, I'll tell you that too.

Your competitors aren't better than you. They're easier to find.

I've looked at a lot of small business sites this summer and that's the pattern every time. Good businesses buried on page two, missing from the map pack, invisible to AI search, while someone with half the reviews gets the calls.

I build custom-coded websites and handle the Google profile and AI-search side so people actually find you. I'm based in New York but work with businesses anywhere. Send me your site and I'll send back an honest look at what's holding it back. Free, yours to keep.

Anyone here ever lost a job to a competitor you know does worse work?

When someone in your town searches for what you do, three businesses get the call. The rest get scrolled past.

Being one of the three has almost nothing to do with being the best. It's whether Google and now ChatGPT can actually find you and trust what they find.

I'm Nick, I build custom-coded websites for Hudson Valley businesses, from Middletown to Rhinebeck. If you're curious where you stand, DM me your website or drop it below and I'll tell you what's costing you calls. Free, no strings.

Your old website isn’t just sitting there. It’s sending jobs to the guy down the road.

Not our numbers. A 2026 study measured 200 contractor websites. Sites that load in under 2.5 seconds turned 6.8% of visitors into leads. Sites that take over 4.5 seconds: 2.1%. Same trades, same kind of traffic.

So run 500 visitors a month through both. The fast site books 34 leads. The old one books 10. Those other 24 people didn’t vanish. They called whoever loaded first.

Buying those 24 leads back with ads runs about $90 each in home services. That’s roughly $2,180 a month. About $26,000 a year, before you’ve priced a single job. We call it the slow site tax.

Want to know if you’re paying it? Open pagespeed.web.dev, paste in your site, check the mobile score. Takes 30 seconds, no login. If it says your page loads in over 4 seconds, that receipt is yours.

We build custom-coded websites for Hudson Valley businesses that load in under 2 seconds as the standard, not the stretch goal. And you own every line of it.

Your competitors aren't better than you. They're easier to find.

When someone in your town searches for a roofer, a plumber, a med spa, a place to eat, Google hands the call to three businesses. Everyone else gets scrolled past. It has nothing to do with who does the best work. It's who set up the website, the Google profile, and the AI-search signals correctly.

That's what I do. I build custom-coded websites for Hudson Valley businesses, starting at $1,500, that load fast, score 95 to 100 on Google's own speed test, and belong to you outright. No WordPress, no templates, no platform holding your business hostage.

Then the growth plans, from $500 a month, keep you in those three spots: Google profile, reviews, local SEO, and showing up when someone asks ChatGPT who to call. Reported every month so you see what's working.

Speed isn't a nice-to-have. A 2026 study of 200 contractor websites found the ones loading in under 2.5 seconds turned visitors into leads at 3.2 times the rate of the slow ones. Deloitte found a tenth of a second faster meant 21.6% more contact forms submitted. That's the whole reason I build to a 95–100 score. It's the difference between a website that looks nice and one that makes the phone ring.

Want to know where your site stands? Send me your website in a message, or drop the link at www.sileonweb.design/free-audit. I'll tell you exactly what's costing you calls. Free, and the answer is yours to keep whether we work together or not.

What's the one thing you already suspect is wrong with your site?
