What's killing your signal more?

A) Bad ground
B) Cheap coax

Comment A or B and tell us why. We're watching and we'll drop the fix for the winner tomorrow.

🚨 YOUR MULTIMETER SAYS YOUR ANTENNA IS GROUNDED… SO WHY IS YOUR SWR STILL HIGH? 🤔📡

You’ve checked the antenna mount. ✅

You’ve checked continuity to the truck chassis. ✅

Your multimeter says everything is connected. ✅

So why are you STILL fighting high SWR? 😤

⚡ HERE’S SOMETHING EVERY CB OWNER SHOULD KNOW!

A good DC ground doesn’t automatically mean you have a good RF ground!

Here’s why. 👇

🔧 1️⃣ DC AND RF AREN’T THE SAME THING

Your multimeter checks electrical continuity using DC. But your CB antenna operates around 27 MHz!

At radio frequencies, a connection’s physical shape, length, and contact area can significantly affect its electrical behavior.

⚡ 2️⃣ THAT GROUND WIRE MIGHT NOT BE DOING WHAT YOU THINK!

A wire can show excellent continuity and still present significant impedance at RF frequencies.

That’s one reason RF bonding methods often favor short, wide conductive connections rather than long, narrow wires.

But remember: the correct bonding arrangement depends on your truck, antenna, and mounting hardware.

🚛 3️⃣ YOUR TRUCK IS PART OF THE ANTENNA SYSTEM!

The antenna doesn’t operate in isolation.

Its mounting location, nearby metal surfaces, RF return path, and coax installation can all influence performance.

A connection that looks perfect on your multimeter doesn’t guarantee the entire antenna system is working correctly.

💡 HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART!

If your SWR is high despite good continuity, don’t immediately assume your antenna needs adjusting.

Check the complete installation, including the mount, antenna insulation, coax, and RF return path.

And don’t start adding ground straps everywhere without understanding the specific installation!

🔥 NOW WE WANT TO HEAR FROM THE EXPERIENCED INSTALLERS!

👇 Have you ever had an antenna installation that showed GOOD continuity but still had HIGH SWR?

🚛 What truck were you working on?

📡 What antenna and mount were you using?

🔧 What finally fixed the problem?

Share your experience! Your solution might save another Stryker owner hours of troubleshooting.

🚛 SRC experts—which modern truck has made you work hardest for a good antenna setup?

Composite panels, electrically isolated mirrors, factory coax, electronic noise, and bonding challenges can complicate an installation. Sometimes the challenge isn’t the radio—it’s the platform around it!

Cascadia, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International, Volvo… which has been your toughest, and what finally helped?

📸 Share your truck’s year/model, antenna, and installation photos. Tell us what worked—and what you’d do differently. Your experience could save another owner hours of troubleshooting!
