The Computer Guys, Inc.

Last week, The Computer Guys, Inc. was honored to be a hole sponsor for the Financial Planning Association of Michigan's Putting Party, held ahead of their Annual Symposium!

We stopped by to say hello, catch up with some familiar faces, and watch teams putt their way through the course. ⛳

One of the things we value most about our business is the relationships we've built with our clients. Supporting them goes beyond keeping their technology running. It means showing up, cheering them on, and being part of the events and organizations that matter to them.

A big thank you to FPA of Michigan for letting us be part of the fun! We hope everyone had a fantastic symposium.

**Think You're Ready?** 🤔

Here's something we tell businesses all the time: The worst time to create a recovery plan is when you suddenly need one.

Imagine arriving at work tomorrow and discovering your server is down, your files are inaccessible, or your business has been hit by a cyberattack.

What's the first step? Who do you call? How long until your team can work again?

If you're not sure, it's probably time to have that conversation.

Backups are important, but they're only part of the equation. Having a tested recovery plan means you're not making decisions under pressure while your business is at a standstill.

At The Computer Guys, Inc., we help businesses prepare for those "what if" moments before they become "what now?" moments.

Cybersecurity by the Numbers

According to Verizon's Data Breach Investigations Report, 68% of data breaches involve a human element.

That doesn't mean employees are the weakest link.

It means they're your first line of defense.

Regular security awareness training helps your team recognize phishing emails, suspicious links, and social engineering before they become costly mistakes.

Technology protects your business.
People help keep it secure.

A stolen password does not always lead to an immediate attack.

Sometimes, the attacker waits.

They may quietly watch email conversations, search for sensitive information, learn how your company handles payments, create forwarding rules, or look for ways to gain access to additional accounts.

And while everything appears to be working normally, they could be learning more about your business.

That is why monitoring matters.

The goal is not just to stop an attack once it happens. It is to spot suspicious activity before the attacker has time to do more damage.

Your computer doesn’t have to completely stop working before it starts telling us something is wrong.

Monitoring can help identify things like low disk space, performance issues, system errors, offline devices, and other warning signs that something needs attention.

The goal? Catch the little problems before they turn into the Monday morning “nothing is working” problems.

That’s a big part of what managed IT is all about.
