You want a support structure that works for you, not them. No convoluted "tiered" support where you explain your issue to the help desk, they escalate to a novice tech, who then escalates it to someone else, and so on. It's a waste of your time. Instead, you want a dedicated support team assigned to your account. One team that takes the time to deeply understand YOUR specific business, systems and needs. No having to re-explain everything each time.

โท Ask directly about average response time for issues and emergencies. "We're really responsive" is not an answer. If they want a long term contract โ€“ get that response time in writing. (thank us later.)

โธ Question them about your core systems, apps, servers - everything that keeps your operations humming. You want to hear confidence that they can support it, not uncertainty.

โน Don't just read reviews, match them to YOUR priorities. There's usually one key reason you need new IT. Make sure this team can ultimately resolve it. Otherwise, you won't be happy.

โบ Ask about billing, especially how they bill projects outside the scope of your service. Confirm they'll give advanced notice of any extra charges before beginning the project. (Yeah, it's a thing.)

โป If you can't avoid a long term contract, be wary of short window auto-renew and termination clauses. These tricks are still around and are not in your favor.

โผ Local, local, local = On-site support, context understanding, and personalization.

โฝ Ask to meet the team: Gauge transparency, rapport and whether you'd trust this team with your business, because you're about to.

And don't worry, the vetting process won't intimidate the right IT partner. They'll welcome your discerning eye. You're doing it right by trusting but verifying every step of the way. Don't stop until you find an IT partner as dedicated to your success as you are. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

IT services overcomplicate things for businesses by making them sign long-term contracts.

There's several reasons you should avoid them altogether โ€“ particularly with IT.

Here's why:

As a business owner, there are a few pitfalls to avoid when it comes to choosing the right IT service. The most important one to avoid is signing a term contract with an IT provider. A term agreement may seem like an easy way to โ€˜set it and forget itโ€™, but there are multiple factors that a cont

Hey, check this out. It turns your messy, confusing search for good IT service into a super simple process.

We wrote it because so many clients said their search for IT was tedious โ€“ full of annoying sales calls, uncertainty about their actual needs, or not knowing how to actually vet an IT service. So, here you go. It's really good.

Oh and it's FREE.

Less IT Stress, Less Friction

Our founder started Eugene Networks with the idea of reducing the friction and stress in our technicianโ€™s lives (he worked for a hyper-focused profit engine MSP and knew there had to be a better way). As it turns out, removing as much friction and stress from our staffโ€™s lives is what makes it possible to provide the same to our clients! We love working in IT but we also love having personal lives and our health and well being.

Trying to decipher which IT service model is best for your business? This short guide will help you make sense of the jargon.

The break/fix approach puts your technology costs in the fog, employees on their own, and makes the most precious business tools unreliable.ย  With the inability to forecast costs, and nobody fixing root causes or preventing future issues, you can only hope for good luck.

The "Print Nightmare" vulnerability is what is known as a Zero Day Exploit meaning that there is information on how to use this exploit and that there is evidence that it is being used "in the wild" as it is put by malicious actors. Hereโ€™s what weโ€™re doing about it:
