Framed and ready to go. ‘Sea-side Sketches-A Clam-Bake’: an outstanding wood engraved image issued in 1873 as part of Winslow Homer’s Cape Ann series. Depicting a scene of carefree boys who were apparently free to make their own amusement and lunch. Two boys are carrying a pail turn their heads away from the dead fish in the lower right, while a group of young boys on the beach build a fire. One prepares to steam or bake clams. The artist’s name is located at the bottom right corner
