Green Up Day 2026 is this Saturday, May 2. We support our website customer Essex Junction in their efforts to clean up the environment. Pitch in and help out! You can grab Green Up bags from the city offices, Brownell Library or EJRP. Together, we can make a difference!

Green Up Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026. This annual event encourages community members to come together and clean up their neighborhood roads, parks, and waterways.

Green Up Day Bags
The City has Green Up Day bags available at:

Essex Junction Recreation and Parks (EJRP) at 75 Maple Street: M-F 8 a.m. to 4 p.m
Brownell Library at 6 Lincoln Street: Hours vary.
City Office at 2 Lincoln Street: M-F 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m (Located in the white Senior Center building)
How It Works
On Green Up Day, volunteers head outside to gather trash along the public right-of-ways, greenbelts, and parks. Only official Green Up Day bags can be used. Household trash, bulk items, or clean recyclables will not be collected. Full bags can be brought to the Brownell Library parking lot and put in a Public Works dump truck from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If volunteers can’t make it to the Brownell Library, they can also leave their bags on the side of the road.

Report Your Work
Share your good work with Ashley Snellenberger at [email protected] or 802-878-6944 by collecting stats on the number of volunteers, miles of roads, and the number of bags of trash picked up, which helps us report progress to the Green Up Day organizers.

Download the App
The Green Up App can help you build teams, track your routes, communicate, set challenges, and locate trash. Apple store or google play.

Safety Precautions & Online Information
PLEASE WEAR GLOVES during the entire cleanup.

Congrats to our customer, Addison County Solid Waste Management District, on a successful 2026 Repair Fair! We love that folks are fixing and reusing items, rather than adding to the landfills. Bravo 👏

We are so thankful for this community! Our 2026 Repair Fair, the 8th we've hosted, was a smashing success! We had our largest number of participants since the event started, and we are so thankful for all our volunteers who worked throughout the event to fix items.

Thank you to those who attended and those who volunteered. This event would not be possible without you!

The Colorado Headwaters Land Trust (CHLT) serves Grand County, Colorado, high in the Rocky Mountains. CHLT came to Ecopixel with a challenge — to create an inclusive website that is ADA accessible and available in Spanish. The new site launched in March. You really should check it out! http://www.coloradoheadwaterslandtrust.org/

Colorado Headwaters Land Trust’s mission is to conserve and steward the open lands and natural character of the headwaters of the Colorado River in partnership with the local community.

The Riverside Meadow....We Did It!

We are extremely pleased to announce that the Riverside Meadow was purchased by JULT on March 24th, 2022. This acquisition means that the meadow will remain a productive hayfield and that the extraordinary view of Mt. Mansfield, through Mills Riverside Park, will remain intact. The Jericho Underhill Park District also receives an easement that allows maintenance and emergency vehicles access off the driveway. This is critical as the park’s bridge cannot handle larger vehicles.
We want to thank our community of supporters for your generosity that was displayed as we sought to raise $200,000 in just three months. This was a very tight timeline, and we are thrilled that it was met! JULT matched $25,000 in donations which helped us meet our goal as well. The extraordinary success of this fundraising effort points to the shared interest that our community has for keeping land productive, scenic vistas intact, and wildlife habitat and corridors open. Thank you for supporting our conservation work which helps protect the lands that we all care about. Current and futures generations will continue to benefit from the purchase of the Riverside Meadow, and we THANK YOU!
