This Friday the 21st - Sunday the 23rd is the 21st annual Kinzua Heritage Festival at 4042 Foxhill rd in Russell Park ( from the Meadery it’s only like 1.5 he drive.) and we will be setup with the following meads ready to tame your palate while you walk through the woods and shop n check out ALL the unique artisans.
This years lineup is:
Wunjo: traditional mead made with local goldenrod honey. It starts like an old German beer style scent and split second sip then turns into a delicious mead with the flowing of goldenrod honey
Philosopher: elderberry and lemon balm- the lemon balm cuts the tartness of the elderberry so you get more of the sweet side of the elderberry.
Crimson Killer: a unique botanical blend you simply MUST try…hibiscus, dried cranberries, orange peel and a pinch of chili pepper and cayenne pepper (no heat, but neat mouthfeel that has folks coming back for more)
Sagehorses Dream: Blackberry, Sage and Madagascar Burbon Vanilla Bean….such a swirling balance of flavors you’ll want to sit by a fireplace in a high back chair and sip while you contemplate the flavors.
Unholy Apple: many of you know this amazing mead Rich has been making for 22 yrs….Amish Cider (which Rich presses each year himself w the Amish in Cambridge Springs) organic cinnamon, clove and an organic honey Rich imports from South America.
Once he sip it, you’ll immerse yourself and wondering how he was able to bottle the season of Autumn and the holidays into a drink.
Bloodmoon: this mead starts out with unholy apple, then it takes another six months of slow infusion with a plethora of organic, dark sweet cherries. This truly tantalizes the taste buds..
we will have some awesome specials for this event as it’s a very special one for us. Kinzua soothes the spirit and recharges us. And when the lands sooth YOUR spirit, swing by and grab a glass of mead for only $10…most of these meads are $12-$16 a glass, but we want fokks enjoying a sip as they wander the lands.
There will also be special bottke deals as we don’t want to repack everything up😂. And yes, even if it rains the event will go on, but Friday it’s supposed to be super nice so stock up!
Ironstone Meadery makes and sells mead, the Old Norse drink. mead is fermented honey....the drink of the Gods
