Englewood Area Mac Users Group Mac & iPhone/iPad users meet other Mac & iPhone/iPad users and learn from each other.

An informal club of Apple users helping each other with lectures, Q & A sessions, beginner and advanced discussions. We have meetings upstairs in Elsie Quirk Library the first Tuesday of the month 1:30-4 PM, and on the second Tuesday of the month a special interest group meets for individual help on iPhone and iPad.

We are more than just a computer club, we're a social club also. Here are photos of a group trip up to the Tampa Apple store when it was the first in the area, May, 2004 and a photo and video our annual picnic at the beach with free door prize drawings and lots of food, drink and friendship, these are from 2010.

Our History
What all computer users want to know is: How do you get the most your computer has to offer? How do you learn the latest tricks, learn about the latest software?
These are the questions two Englewood senior men—Charlie Palmer and Frank Widmer—asked of one another back in 1993 after each had become the proud owner of an Apple computer. Over time, they helped each other overcome the learning difficulties inherent in computers.
One thing led to another and the two decided to start a Macintosh Users Group. Widmer, who gets a kick out of helping others, spearheaded the initial effort. He called 12 people. Seven showed up for the first meeting in 1993. The Englewood Area Macintosh Users Group was off and running!
The membership has grown since then, yet stays a nice friendly size.
