Here's me using a portable Sony SL-2000 Betamax recorder from 1981 on a battery, paired with an HVC-2800 Saticon video camera from 1982 at 2022. Before camcorders, these two components were linked together using an external cable. The camera weighs about 6 pounds and the recorder is 10 pounds. Sony's later Betamovie and JVC's VideoMovie combined the camera and recorder into a single component you could carry on your shoulder.

Getting ready for Vintage Computer Festival Midwest 2022! It's currently 2am but I got to pack up my stuff before I leave Friday afternoon. It's going to be a long drive.
