Helm Technical Services is looking to fill a Junior-Level Programmer position within our Client's software development team! Our client is looking to fill this position ASAP and is looking for someone who wants to make a long-term commitment to an organization that is the leader in its industry, and wants to be a member of a small (12 person) but very dynamic software development team! Our client's plan is to stay at the forefront of technology to better serve its customers. They are the largest company of their kind in the automotive industry. They have mobile apps that run on iOS and Android devices. They have separate client integration sets of "robots" and MS SQLServer databases for nearly every client they have. They integrate via web services with many of their 3rd party vendors using custom-designed vb.net apps. They run a large VMWare platform with 150+ VMs, which continues to grow.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Performing systems/data integration programming tasks (programming, unit testing, data analysis) by adding new functionality to existing systems or creating new apps that run in a VM 24x7 pushing and pulling data via web services between the client and their integration partners.
- Coding and working in a multi-programmer team as well as on single programmer projects.
- Working closely with the project manager and assisting in validating the software you create.
- Work in a dynamic environment (that may not always be as formal and structured as in a larger corporate environment) where the requirement and design process may be somewhat fluid at times.
- Communicate with team members and management, to keep them updated on work progress.
Technical Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Languages: VB.net
- DB Management Systems: MS SQL Server (or other SQL experience).
- 1 - 2 years of programming experience
- CSU or UC degree in Comp Science or MIS
