Back in 2007, my family and I adopted our first dog from a rescue shelter located in St.Louis, Missouri. His name was Henry and he was a good boy. From my first day of kindergarten all the way up to my first day of senior year in high school. He wasn't just a dog, he was part of our family. He made such a positive impact on all of our lives. We kept our promise and gave him a forever home. In Sept
ember of 2019, his time with us was coming to an end. His last days of life were spent eating cheeseburgers, going on car rides, and spending time with family. He will always have a place in our hearts. Shortly after we put Henry down in September of 2019, my family decided to adopt another dog. We started looking and discovered another rescue group located in St.Louis, Missouri. We had to go through a lengthy process of filling out applications and having one of the foster parents come to us and do a welfare check to make sure we were the right fit. Once all of that was completed, we welcomed Yogi into our family in October of 2019. We made the same promise as we did before and that is to give Yogi a forever home. Not only did we rescue Henry and Yogi, but they also rescued us. So many dogs spend their time at shelters waiting for the right family to come and adopt them. Just remember when it comes to getting a dog to adopt, and DON'T shop!
