Hey everyone,

Since the DOJ rolled out new web accessibility standards with WCAG 2.1 in April, our team has been busy auditing our client sites to ensure compliance or to create a strategy for getting there. Since half of our clients are government-funded, this has been a top priority for us. 📋

Here are the key updates to be aware of in the new ruling:

📱 Mobile-friendly improvements
🔍 Enhanced readability for low vision users
🧠 Better support for cognitive disabilities

With more than one-third of the U.S. population over 50, we can't help but think these updates are specifically to address our aging population.

Not sure what was added to the latest set of criteria? We've got you covered. Here's a quick list of the 17 new success criteria.

As always, if you need assistance ensuring your site meets these new standards, Give us a call or send us a message. Happy to help!

🌐 Let's Talk Accessibility in Web Design! 🌟

Did you know web accessibility is about creating websites that everyone can use? It's all about inclusivity in the digital world. 🌍 Accessibility means designing web content so people with diverse abilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the web.

Imagine a website that everyone can use, regardless of how they access the internet. That's the goal! 🎯 Examples include text alternatives for images (so screen readers can describe them to visually impaired users), keyboard navigation (for those who can't use a mouse), and transcripts for audio content (helping those who are deaf or hard of hearing).

Web accessibility is not just a thoughtful approach; it's essential for creating a more inclusive and equitable internet. 🤝 It benefits everyone, from people with disabilities to those on mobile devices or with slow internet connections.
