AI is cool and all… but shoutout to the clients who still say, “Nah, I need my DESIGNER.” 😂🙌🏾🦋

Seriously, I’m grateful for every client who trusts me to take the vision in their head and turn it into something that actually LOOKS like what they were trying to say.

AI is a tool—and trust me, creatives can use ALL the tools. But there’s still something special about the creativity, strategy, relationship, and human touch behind good design.

So shoutout to my clients who continue to rock with Butterfly East. Y’all keep me creating, stretching, and doing what I love. 💜🦋

Thank you!

The woman behind the butterfly. 🦋

Meet my grandmother, Madeline Smith.

My grandmother raised me from the age of four. She taught me about God, kindness, family and, most importantly, how to love.

She also loved butterflies.

But there's another connection that I appreciate even more now that I've spent 10 years as a designer:

Grandma was creative.

I like to call her an "old-school graphic artist." She studied calligraphy and had the most beautiful handwriting. She understood the beauty of letters, presentation and creating something carefully with your hands.

I don't think I completely understood the influence that had on me when I started Butterfly East.

Ten years later, I do.

The butterfly in Butterfly East isn't just a pretty logo or a brand symbol.

It's her.

It's a reminder of the woman who helped shape me long before I ever opened a design program or sent my first client an invoice.

And 10 years later, every time I put the name Butterfly East on my work, a little piece of Grandma Madeline's legacy keeps creating too.

This butterfly started with her. 🦋

🦋 Butterfly East is 10!

Ten years ago, I officially launched Butterfly East by Najiyyah Bailey

What started as a love for design and a desire to help people bring their ideas to life has grown into something I couldn't fully see when I started.

Over the past decade, I've created for businesses, ministries, churches, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, events and organizations. I've grown in my craft, discovered my creative voice, made mistakes, learned A LOT, and watched Butterfly East evolve right alongside me.

But the part that means the most to me is that the name I chose 10 years ago still tells the story of who I am and where I come from.

So instead of running an anniversary sale, I want to spend a little time celebrating the story.

The legacy.
The growth.
The journey.

Welcome to A Decade of Becoming. 🦋

Happy 10th Anniversary, Butterfly East.

Digital Do's and Don’ts: 5 Mistakes Killing Your Online Presence

❌ 5. Don’t use random colors and fonts that dilute your brand

Why it matters:
📊 Brands with consistent visuals across all platforms see up to a 23% increase in revenue and an 80% boost in audience recognition. When your colors, fonts, and style change every week, your audience can’t instantly identify your content — and if they can’t recognize you, they can’t trust you.

Random aesthetics create confusion.
Confusion creates hesitation.
And hesitation kills conversion.

Your digital presence should feel like Home — not a thrift store aisle where nothing matches.

Every time you switch up your look, you’re essentially reintroducing yourself to your audience.
And nobody has time to figure out who you are today versus who you were last month.

What to do instead:
✅ Choose a brand palette and stick to it.
Use 2–3 main colors and 1–2 fonts consistently across:

Your graphics
Your stories
Your videos
Your website
Your email headers
Your digital products

Consistency creates identity, and identity builds authority.
