Check this out,
Bluetooth was named after the 10th-century Viking king Harald Gormsson, nicknamed "Bluetooth," who united Denmark and Norway. The name was suggested as a temporary codename in 1996 by Intel engineer Jim Kardach, who drew a parallel between the king's feat of uniting Scandinavia and the new technology's goal of uniting different wireless standards and devices. The name stuck and became the official name for the technology.
