We're closing early today.
Volunteering out time to offer free repairs and advice for the fix-it clinic hosted at the Anchorage Museum SEED lab!
This free fix-it clinic, sponsored by Dyani Chapman of the Alaska Environment research and policy center. We're offering free tools use, repairs, advice and networking for a variety of areas. In addition to ourselves, come down to the SEED lab today for any project that might fit:
Textiles & Sewing - Charity Lovelace from Frippery Studio (professional seamstress, Trend Alaska fashion designer, and costume maker)
Jewelry & Basic Leatherworking - Katia Lundell (jewelry and leather maker)
Furniture & Painting - Darcy Moxon (former owner of Furnish Studio + Salvage)
Appliances & General Repair - Brandon Thomas (local handyman)
Bicycle Repair - Bob Glascott (volunteer mechanic at Off the Chain Collective)
We hope to see you there!
Have a malfunctioning gadget? A wobbly end table?
Bring your broken items to the fix-it clinic and spend time understanding how they work. With guidance from volunteer coaches, you’ll explore what’s possible, whether that means a repair on the spot or simply a closer look inside.
We provide the tools, workspace, and support to help you troubleshoot and learn. Even if your item isn’t fully repaired, you’ll leave with a better sense of how it was made, how it functions and how to approach fixing it in the future. Hosted by Alaska Environment Research & Policy Center, SILO², and the Anchorage Tool Library.
5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Seed Lab. Free. Registration recommended ➡️ loom.ly/Hos8IJc.
