Mandy Dark started as a chemist, moved into teaching, picked up freelance content work, and eventually became a product owner at Catalyst Education.

Her path wasn't straight, but it brought exactly the right expertise to the table. Different backgrounds bring different perspectives, and in tech, that diversity of experience is often what leads to better, more thoughtful solutions.

This video features a woman showing her makeup routine and the adaptive techniques she has developed to apply eyeliner, mascara, and eyebrow pencil.

Figuring out what works for you is one of the most important parts of living with sight loss. The techniques that make sense for someone else may not make sense for you, and that is completely fine. Adapting and experimenting may feel like a limitation at first, but in reality it's a natural part of building a routine that actually fits your life.

James Caras was the 32nd person to have web storage space on the servers at UC Santa Barbara. From there, he built a company that has reached over 750,000 students.

In our latest episode of Access Granted, Jamie and Mandy of Catalyst Education join Mike to talk about what it looks like when a company builds accessibility into its foundation from day one, and how that benefits everyone, including the company.

GAAD Raleigh 2026 is a wrap, and what a morning it was.

Our 4th annual event brought together some of the brightest minds in accessibility and disability inclusion for honest and inspiring conversations about how the Triangle is becoming a national leader in this space.

A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, Reggie Townsend, for sharing his insights on AI and how it can benefit people with disabilities. We’d also like to thank our "Building Inclusive Workplaces That Last" panelists Crystal Tenan, Amy Hepler, Angela Martin, Anna Jain, and Logan Passey, and to our fireside chat speakers Hannah Mendelson, Antoniea Richardson, and Sara Weir. The conversations you sparked yesterday are what will continue to drive progress.

Thank you to our incredible collaborators at SAS Software, GitHub, and Lenovo for making this event possible. Your commitment to accessibility sets the standard for what inclusion looks like in the workplace, and we are grateful for your partnership.

And most importantly, thank you to every single person who came out yesterday. You are the reason GAAD Raleigh keeps growing, and the reason the Triangle continues to lead the way on accessibility and inclusion across business and education.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is celebrated every year on the third Thursday of May. We already can’t wait to see you all at GAAD Raleigh 2027.

Watching their stories about accessibility resonate with everyone in the room is exactly why we host GAAD Raleigh every year. From standing ovations to moments that had the whole room laughing, today's energy was something special. Every single person who took the stage made a huge impact.

A big thank you to all of our speakers for showing what accessibility can do for everyone.

One of the big questions we’re asking today is: How do we turn inspiration into action?

Our sponsors are paving the way to a more accessible world.

GAAD Raleigh wouldn't be possible without the organizations who chose to invest in this event and help bring it to life. Because of their support, this community is able to come together today to learn, connect, and take meaningful steps toward greater accessibility and inclusion.

To all of our sponsors, we are incredibly grateful for your support. Thank you.
