PSA: Duplicate Facebook Accounts ≠ Hacking!

Just a quick reminder—if you see a new Facebook account with your name or someone else’s, it doesn’t mean you’ve been hacked. It’s actually a case of someone creating a fake account, which is a totally different thing. When a real hack happens, someone would be accessing your actual profile and personal info—not just copying your name and picture to set up a fake page.

If you come across a copycat account, here’s what to do:

1. Report the fake profile to Facebook.
2. Let your friends and family know, so they don’t accept friend requests from the impostor.

🔒 Keep Your Facebook Account Secure: Activate 2FA Today! 🔒

In today's digital age, securing your online presence is more important than ever. One of the most effective ways to protect your Facebook account (and your email and other important accounts) is by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This simple step adds an extra layer of security, making it much harder for unauthorized users to access your account.

Here’s how to do it:

Go to your Security Settings: On Facebook, head to 'Privacy Center,' then 'Review settings'. Under Common privacy settings click "Manage in Accounts Center" and then select "Two-factor Authentication".

Turn on Two-Factor Authentication: Follow the prompts to choose your preferred method (e.g., text message or authentication app).

While you are here, review your security: Take a moment to audit your security settings. Make sure your contact information is up-to-date, check active sessions, and log out of any devices you no longer use or don't recognize.
