Self-Care for Female Entrepreneurs
As a business owner, especially those of us “soloprenuers”, burnout can come easily. We tend to wear so many hats on any given day to ensure we’re keeping up the momentum and things are running smoothly. It can be a challenge to pull ourselves away for self-care… Here are some tips for helping you get your mojo back, even if all you have are 5 minutes!
♡ Pause and take 5-10 deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth (maybe even incorporate a mantra or a simple “om” if you feel like it). This is a great way to ease feelings of stress and anxiety.
♡ Step outside for some fresh air and, if possible, spend some time in nature. A walk always helps me ground into the present…especially when I’m most resistant to it!
♡ Switch your focus to someone else, be it a pet, a partner, a friend, or a complete stranger. Sometimes a small act of kindness is all we need to remember the bigger picture.
♡ Meditate on one thing you’re grateful for. It doesn’t have to be something big… maybe it’s a person, a place, an event, or the simple act of giving yourself the opportunity to pause.
♡ Buy yourself a treat! Maybe an afternoon coffee, your favorite baked good, a cute new houseplant, a pair of shoes, whatever…whatever “sparks joy,” as Marie Kondo says.
♡ Take a nap. So often our bodies are signaling us to slowww down. Honor yours. Rest is not something that needs to be earned.
♡ Spend an hour doing something creative, be it through art, movement, music… get out of your head and let your intuition guide you.
♡ Take a long shower, a relaxing bath, or a dip in the nearest body of water. Water can be so cleansing!
♡ Journal. And give yourself permission to be messy and uncensored.
♡ Declutter your social media.
♡ Leave yourself love notes around your home or office… reminders and affirmations that empower and inspire you!
