In December, we went "live" on a webinar introducing the new updates within Feed Supervisor. 🌡️The heat of summer is upon us, and unfortunately with that comes heat stress. Dairy cows are especially susceptible to the heat and humidity (see the graphic below).
☀️One of the NEW updates with Feed Supervisor takes a look at the temperature Heat Index and how it impacts your herd's milk production and dry matter intakes. (stay tuned for more information on this!)
❄️To help mitigate the effects of heat stress on your cows, keep the following in mind:
-are your fans and/or sprinklers running properly?
-be sure drinking water tanks are fresh and clean
-keep feed pushed up
-are your barns well ventilated?
-have adequate shade if cattle are outside
