All Thumbs Studio All Thumbs Studio is a working studio providing private and semi-private instruction for the practic

I teach children and adults using a multi-disciplinary and multi media approach. I have equipment to make pottery, do prints (with hand type letterpress, wood and linoleum block cuts,) work with computer and web graphics, as well as drawing and painting. Second try. I have one odd one left. Bucket glaze “Sun Dried Tomato” with “Ash” on the rim. Glaze thickness is the only difference between these two and the last two. Very hard to regulate as the viscosity of the glazes changes.

At this point I’m testing glazes and glaze combinations of what I call the “bucket glazes” - studio glazes that can be tricky to control. The upside is they can be very dynamic. These “drunken” goblets always lilt a bit. I need to either request a more controlled kiln location; build the with more stout stems; or a combination of those and drying/resting the stems. I’ll keep you posted.
