Listeria outbreaks, E. Coli and contamination have resulted in millions of pounds of food products to be recalled. Even though it is a scary thought to have possibly consumed recalled products, it is important to remain calm and vigilant.
Keep track of food product recalls from reputable sources such as the USDA, FDA, government agencies and local/national new agencies. If you do have recalled food products, either dispose or return to place of purchase for a refund. Always sanitize properly after handling recalled food products. And finally, if you have gotten an adverse reaction related to a food product, you can submit a report to your local public health agencies or contact the USDA or FDA hotlines.
If your restaurant has recalled food products, do not serve, open (if unopened), or consume these food products, and again, discard or return to place of purchase for a refund. For more free restaurant tips and resources, visit us at http://www.zbspos.com/resources.
