The week started with an early morning flight and some gorgeous views. The rest of it? In the weeds.

Just call me the...Brand guardian. Risk mitigator. Accuracy controller. Client reputation protector. Strategic reframer. Standards enforcer. Call prep architect. Event production overseer.

I love it when an ordinary part of a client’s operation becomes a branding tool.

I recently got the keys to their project-tracking system (win!). Tons of great photos in there, but this one stopped me.

That long shadow transforms a flat scene. It defines time, adds depth and mood, and becomes a subject in its own right—without taking over the frame. Quiet storytelling in a simple image.

Acronyms are great.
Context is better.
Tone is everything.

And yes — OG is Original Gangsta.
It also happens to stand for Open Graph.

Open Graph tags tell social platforms how your link preview shows up…the title, the description, the image, the whole first-impression moment.

And now you know!

Things that should be savored: morning peace, strong coffee, and those fleeting seasonal colors.
The stillness before the day begins always, always feels like a small gift to myself. I went ahead and RSVP’d for the same corner tomorrow morning.

You might think these are the sights and sounds of a farm somewhere, but when in Miami, you can’t be surprised to find this guy in the parking lot of an industrial area. (I ❤️ Miami)

The Cracker Barrel rebrand has everyone talking—me included.
So I wrote down my takeaways:

• A brand is more than a logo—it’s years of trust + loyalty
• Evolution is necessary, but brand equity is sacred
• Ex*****on matters: sub-logos, gradual shifts, honoring heritage
• Not all was lost—listening + pivoting reignited their fan base
• Dunkin did it better

Brands should evolve. The key is how you do it.

Thanks to for inviting me to share my perspective on personal branding this week.

One of my favorite parts was finally meeting Jennifer Millman and Laura Pierson in person instead of just online. Which tied right back to a key point: personal branding is about showing up authentically—whether it’s IRL or on social.

A couple of takeaways I shared:
𝐀𝐈 +𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 → Use it to spark ideas and refine your message, but keep your voice at the center. You are literally teaching ChatGPT your voice so give it feedback.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 → Don’t overthink it. Talk like you’re speaking to one person, not the whole world. The more you post, the sooner you get past the cringe.

Personal branding works best when it’s real and consistent, not polished to perfection. And I’ll admit—as someone that’s pretty intentional (and somewhat private), consistency and getting past the cringe feeling is something I’m still working on too.

I’d love to hear from some shy ones about what they love/hate about social.
