24 words don’t guarantee 256-bit security.
That statement sounded impossible... until today.
The recent COLDCARD security alert reminds us of something many people overlook:
A seed phrase is only as secure as the randomness used to generate it.
A BIP39 seed can be perfectly valid and still have been created with far less entropy than expected.
The real question isn’t:
“Do I have 24 words?”
The real question is:
“Where did those 24 words come from?”
In our latest article, we explain what happened, why it matters, and how verifiable physical entropy fundamentally changes the trust model.
