🌭🌀 Apparently, we have a potential hot dog coming our way… because apparently hurricane season needed a new shape this year. 😂

All jokes aside, now is the time to pay attention and stay weather aware. These systems can change direction, strengthen, weaken, or disappear altogether—but waiting until the last minute is never a great plan.

So yes… start your “panic buying” now. 😆
And by panic buying, I mean responsibly pick up the things you’re going to need BEFORE we’re 3 days out and every store is out of water, batteries, propane, plywood, generators, and bread for reasons nobody fully understands.

If this is your first hurricane season in Florida, do yourself a favor and start learning now. Trim questionable trees and limbs, check your generator, grab fuel cans and batteries, refill medications, make sure you have water and nonperishable food, secure anything outside that could become airborne, and figure out where you would go if you decided—or were told—to evacuate.

Have a plan before you need the plan.

The media serves an important purpose by keeping everyone informed, but nonstop hurricane coverage can also create a lot of unnecessary stress, anxiety, and panic—especially when a storm is still days away and the forecast is changing constantly.

So keep an eye on the updates, use reliable weather sources, prepare early, and don’t panic.

And for now… keep one eye on the tropics and the other on the giant Atlantic hot dog. 🌭👀🌀

This is how they get you:

🚨 PHISHING SCAMS ARE GETTING MUCH HARDER TO SPOT 🚨

Take a close look at the email in this picture. At first glance, it looks professional. It has a company name, a real-looking employee signature, a phone number, a website button, and even an “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom.

Here is the dangerous part: the unsubscribe button is also a malicious link.

Most people have been taught to unsubscribe from unwanted email. Unfortunately, scammers know that. They are now using buttons such as Unsubscribe, View Invoice, Review Approval, Track Package, Secure Account, and Reset Password to trick people into visiting fraudulent websites.

You may believe you are protecting yourself by clicking “Unsubscribe,” but you could instead:

⚠️ Confirm that your email address is active
⚠️ Be sent to a fake login page designed to steal your password
⚠️ Be tricked into providing banking or personal information
⚠️ Download malware or give criminals access to your computer

Never trust a link simply because the email looks professional. Logos, names, phone numbers, mailing addresses, and legal-looking disclaimers are extremely easy for criminals to copy.

When an unexpected or suspicious email arrives:

✅ Do not click any buttons or links—including “Unsubscribe”
✅ Do not call the phone number listed in the message
✅ Do not reply to the sender
✅ Use your email provider’s Report Spam or Report Phishing option
✅ Visit the company’s real website by typing the address yourself
✅ Contact the company using a phone number you independently verified

When in doubt, stop before you click. A few seconds of caution can prevent stolen passwords, compromised bank accounts, identity theft, and expensive computer repairs.

✅ Scam Alert from Wholesale Computer Outlet**

Hey DeLand and Volusia neighbors!

We just saw another sneaky phishing email making the rounds (see the example attached). It claims **"General Body Constructions Inc sent you a payment"** with a big blue **"VIEW PAYMENT DETAILS"** button.

**This is almost certainly a scam.** Don't click anything.

How these scams work:

Scammers blast out thousands of these emails pretending to be from random companies (construction firms are popular lately).

- The goal? Get you curious enough to click the button.

- Once you do, it usually takes you to a **fake login page** that looks like your email, bank, or a payment portal.

- There they steal your username/password, install malware, or trick you into entering credit card/banking details.

Real companies don't send vague "you got money!" emails with big clickable buttons out of the blue. Legitimate payments come through your actual bank app, accounting software, or official portals.

How to protect yourself and your family:

1. Never click links or buttons - in unsolicited payment/shipping/invoice emails.

2. Delete it immediately (and empty your trash).

3. Verify directly — Log into your bank or email account manually (type the address yourself, don't click).

4. Check your accounts regularly for anything suspicious.

5. Use strong, unique passwords + enable 2-factor authentication (2FA) everywhere.

6. Keep your antivirus/antimalware updated (we can help set this up if needed).

Most people think Super Mario just came out of nowhere.

The truth is much more surprising.

Back in the early days of Nintendo of America, the company was renting a warehouse from a real estate developer named Mario Segale.

Around the same time, Nintendo was localising its arcade hit Donkey Kong, where the main character was originally called “Jumpman.”

Then something small happened that stuck.

People at Nintendo started calling him “Mario” as a nickname, likely inspired by their landlord.

And it never changed.

That throwaway name ended up becoming one of the most iconic characters in video game history, powering the entire Super Mario franchise and shaping modern gaming culture for decades.

A casual warehouse nickname turned into a global symbol.

Sometimes the biggest characters in history start with the smallest, most random moments.
