Extra Mile Fiber provides gigabit fiber broadband to homes in the Dayton region and to communities that want next generation broadband.

Extra Mile Fiber was established in 2014 to provide gigabit fiber bandwidth to homes in the Dayton region and to other communities that want next generation broadband. EMF builds and operates fiber to the home networks based on industry standards and best practices. Extra Mile Fiber joined the FTTH Council of Americas in April 2014 and supports their mission to bring fiber broadband to all communities in the United States with a focus on communities in the Miami Valley region of Ohio.

UPDATE: Extra Mile Fiber assessed the fiber feeds from our network into Centerfield Flats. The fiber had been cut in two places by vandals Saturday evening at approximately 9:07pm. We identified the damaged fiber location late Sunday morning at approximately 11am and immediately initiated a dispatch of a repair technician. The repair technician arrived onsite at 2pm this afternoon and completed the repairs to restore services at 4pm.”

Extra Mile Fiber customers in Centerfield Flats started having service issues around 9:07pm EDT on Saturday, 03/28/2026. The service issue appears to be an issue with the fiber drops entering the Centerfield Flats building. We anticipate services to be down for an extended period of time.

We sincerely regret this service outage and recommend using hot spots through mobile service providers until services are restored.

4:53 pm Update: We are going to be monitoring services. Traffic is currently on the backup link and should be operational for all our end users.

UPDATE: Everyone’s service should be back up.

Our service edge was down due to a power outage downtown that started at 4pm and went completely down at 5pm when battery power was completely drained. AES onsite. The utility company and electricians have identified a wiring fault within the building downtown where our service edge is located. AES has restored power. If your service has not been restored, email us at [email protected].

Extra Mile Fiber customers, there is a power outage downtown that’s affecting our services including our phone lines. AES is on site repairing the issue. Further updates will be provided as we get them.
