๐โ๐บ ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐น ๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ.
Twenty-five years later, Iโm still pi**ed that our country was attacked. That nearly 3,000 innocent people went to work, boarded airplanes, reported for duty, or answered a call for help and never came home.
But I also miss what happened next.
๐ช๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐.
For a brief moment, we stopped seeing Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives, different races, religions, and backgrounds.
We saw Americans.
President George W. Bush captured that spirit at Ground Zero, standing atop the rubble with his arm around a firefighter and a bullhorn in his hand. His words still give me chills.
We cannot recreate September 12. But we can remember what it taught us: ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฒ๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐บ๐ถ๐ฒ๐.
We are neighbors. We are Americans. What unites us is greater than what divides us.
