Here's why you should not GOSSIP.

In Ancient Greece, Socrates had a great reputation of wisdom. One day, someone came to find the great philosopher and said to him:
- Do you know what I just heard about your friend?
- A moment, replied Socrates.

Before you tell me, I would like to test you the three sieves.
- The three sieves?
- Yes, continued Socrates. Before telling anything about the others, it's good to take the time to filter what you mean. I call it the test of the three sieves.

The first sieve is the TRUTH. Have you checked if what you're going to tell me is true?
- No, I just heard it.
- Very good! So, you don't know if it's true.

We continue with the second sieve, that of KINDNESS. What you want to tell me about my friend, is it good?
- Oh, no! On the contrary.
- So, questioned Socrates, you want to tell me bad things about him and you're not even sure they're true?

Maybe you can still pass the test of the third sieve, that of UTILITY. Is it useful that I know what you're going to tell me about this friend?
- No, really.
- So, concluded Socrates, what you were going to tell me is neither true, nor good, nor useful. Why, then, did you want to tell me this?

"Gossip is a bad thing. In the beginning it may seem enjoyable and fun, but in the end, it fills our hearts with bitterness and poisons us, too!

I like the saying from the late Dr.. Robert Schuller, " Beginning is half finished!."

This means that it takes work to get started, which takes watching videos, learning the steps for success, inviting, and mostly listening to people to understand their needs.

Guess what? We can not help everyone. This is why can't guarantee success, that is a path that the individual must decide?

TELL ME A STORY OF HOW TO GO?

I would like to share an analogy with you in reference to running your business.

Let's pretend that your car is the representation of your business. As you start your business, what are some of your first steps? 🚘

Maybe spending some money on detailing your car? First impressions are important! 🤗

How about putting some money in the gas tank in the form of petro? Always a great idea to have plenty of gas! ⛽

Ok, let's assume that you are ready to start or restart your business! One might say, shouldn't you start your car? Absolutely, a great idea! 🔥

Hmm, 🤔, do you think it is important to have a plan for your business to follow? It is said that if you fail to plan, you will plan to fail! 🤫

Ok, so we now have a roadmap to take us on our successful journey! Are you excited about the journey that you have chosen? If not, the time to change is now! 👍

Alright, you are excited about your business model and the road course you have chosen! So let's adjust our seat and our mirrors! Oops, almost forgot to purchase insurance and to put on my seatbelt? So many things that come with owning your business, you are to be congratulated for being prepared! Bravo!🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯

Now, the day has come that you put your car in gear and hit that gas pedal! Sounds pretty good hearing that engine roaring and your business started or restarted, right? Of course it does! 🏆

So, every day you do the same routine, right? Oh no, you overslept because you stayed up late watching a movie! Oops, can't do that very often! Ok, you jump in your car, start the engine and you are on your business journey again! 🤫

The same routine every day! So much so that your mind doesn't remember you even driving your roadmap! You find yourself sitting in your car at the end of the day, but you are sitting in your driveway! Boy, I hope I did everything correctly? 🤔

As a matter of fact, if you lose focus; your investment of money and time can be in jeopardy! 🕰

What if you, start the car and push the gas pedal? What is happening? You forgot to put the car in gear? Or you forgot to fuel up the car and get it washed. It is amazing how that road dirt and oil collects on my car! Boy, all this to run my business? Yes, people have no idea of everything that it entails to run a successful business. 💪😎

Ok, I am going to point 👉 out some mistakes that we as people make! One, it takes a mentor to keep you focused on your daily tasks! Just someone to be accountable to? 👌

Two, once you have it in gear; don't take your foot off the gas! Well, of course for safety sake! 🤔

Three, it is important to check your road course everyday! You need to adjust your times due to weather conditions? Always be thinking about the road ahead! 😎🤳

Four, do not focus on the rearview mirror for too long! It represents things that we are holding onto inside. You know, the past! How in the world can you focus on the windshield, when you are staring at that crazy mirror? 😒

So here we are trying to start or restart your business after a year of a crazy pandemic? 😷 Do this! Recheck your vehicle and the route that you need to change? Get a mentor, someone that you are making yourself accountable! Do the small tasks daily! There is a reason behind them! 🎯

Always remember to thank your clients or customers! Never take their business for granted! Plan your business for success by helping others solve their problems! They will gladly pay you for your services and recommend you to their family and friends! 😀👌
