🚨 Local Business Cybersecurity Alert 🚨

We’re seeing an active email phishing scam currently hitting local businesses, and we want to make sure everyone stays protected.

What it looks like:

An email that appears legitimate

Includes an attachment that looks like an invoice, document, or shared file

Clicking the attachment prompts you to enter email credentials or click additional links to “access” the file

A common red flag: the sender’s email address appears both as the sender AND in the CC field

⚠️ Do not open the attachment or enter credentials — this is designed to steal login information and can lead to compromised email accounts and further spread.

What to do instead:

Verify unexpected attachments directly with the sender via phone or a new email

Report suspicious emails to your IT provider or email administrator

If credentials were entered, reset passwords immediately and notify IT
