So here is my story, I walked into an AT&T store with my wife
to get a battery for my iphone. We were encouraged to
buy new iphones and receive discounts and rebates to
sweeten the deal. We were told that we would get
unlimited data on both Iphones and both of our ipads
just for signing up for Direct TV and purchasing some
other arbitrary items. So we were a little skeptical and we
repeated to the sales dude several times what he is offering
just to be clear. We also go to a great deal of trouble to
make it clear to the sales guy, he cannot exceed our budget
with this deal. He, of course, says we got this. Well it has
been a nightmare of broken promises and terrible service.
First of all, DON"T take their deal for the Direct TV. It just
doesn't work right and after several attempts to fix it, it
remains broken even at this point. I have not had a full week
of service since this was installed.
AT&T will not honor what their sales people sell. This
dishonesty is costing me money every month that I didn't
intend to be spending and I intend to protest their
methods to as many people as I can possibly do. My
next steps will be to contact the BBB and post on YELP
in addition to a robust grass roots campaign on Facebook
and Twitter.
AT&T inadvertently acknowledges their lack of candor
via a program of customer service folks who toe the
line for AT&T. They knew that by not honoring the
promises made by salespeople, many customers
would attempt to contact the executives at AT&T.
However, the physical address of the home
office is never posted on their websites nor anywhere
else. So, many people, including myself knew that
investor relations could get a message to the
executives, but HOLD the phone Jack !!! They now
have a customer service link on the investor relations
page to intercept. The executives HIDE from the
customers. They give you poor quality products and
are completely inaccessible when the customer
runs through many, many layers of CS telling you
that AT&T cannot honor, service or otherwise keep
their end of the bargain. I am so unhappy with my
service, the deal I got, the way it went down and
the lack of having any access to the higher ups in
corporation. Based on my experiences, they
probably HIDE because I'm not the only person
attempting to contact them. This page is intended
to draw out those who have dealt with AT&T
recently and share their experiences.
