I haven’t shared much since my maternity leave started at the end of October, so here’s “Monthly” Moments recap of what life has looked like for the last 3-ish months 🤍

One of these days I’ll get back to more consistent content. In the meantime, I’m easing back into work bit by bit, one thing at a time, in the margins between nap times and nursing sessions.

It was such a joy getting to design for a variety of industries. Every brand is so different, and I’m forever grateful to my clients for trusting me to uncover their unique style, and craft something that meets their needs AND feels like home 🤍

I resisted starting a template shop for a long time.

I made all the excuses. Told myself the market was too saturated, that there wasn’t room for me.

But after a few years of offering template customization – and becoming a mom – the idea got more and more appealing.

Then, when I worked with 6+ wedding venue owners in a single year, I realized there was a real gap in the market.

There were plenty of stunning Showit templates for the wedding industry, but I struggled to find any that truly fit the needs of venue owners. Whenever I customized a template for a venue client, I found myself rebuilding huge sections, because the layouts just didn’t suit their content.

Now don’t get me wrong – that customization ability is the beauty of Showit! 🙌 And as a designer, I can make nearly any template work for any brand. But some take more work than others.

And if you’re a venue owner doing it yourself? You shouldn’t have to fight with your template to make it work.

So, when I finally decided to create my first template, I designed it with wedding venue owners in mind (while keeping it flexible enough for other service-based businesses too).

Because when you run a venue, you’re already doing the hard work every single day to create a space where your couples feel at ease on their big day.

This upcoming brand has a message that couldn’t be more timely.

In this world that feels darker and heavier by the minute, Rewritten’s mission is to help women break free from the lies, live boldly in the truth of who God says they are, and encounter Jesus in every chapter of their lives.

Every detail of this brand identity was thoughtfully chosen to represent this message and tell a story. Texture and typography inspired by vintage books. Pressed wildflowers representing beauty that grows in unexpected places. The imperfectness of torn paper.

Layer upon layer. A scrapbook of messy pieces that, when pulled together, become something beautiful. Just like our stories.

Because what the enemy intends for evil, God intends for good. He rewrites the stories we thought were over into testimonies of redemption and restoration, all for His glory and our freedom.

What an honor to be a small part of such a special ministry. There’s so much more I could share, but I’ll save that for when they launch. So for now, enjoy this sneak peek 🤍

If you’ve followed me for a while, you might remember this little passion project ☕️

A few years ago, I asked my followers to help me create a brand identity for a made-up business. They voted on the business type (coffee shop), the personality (adventurous & bold), the ideal audience (25-35 year-old business owners), and a must-have color (green).

With that criteria, we invented The Cove: a hybrid coffee shop and co-working space for young entrepreneurs on the northern Pacific coast 🌊

She’s coastal, campy, and bold, and I still think it’s one of my most fun projects to date.

Now to design for a real coffee shop? That would be the actual dream project. Any takers? 😉
