My agency started with a $1,500 website I was not sure how to build.

A client said yes.

So I learned what I needed and delivered.

That first project taught me something important.

You do not need every answer before you begin.

You need the courage to figure it out.

Before hiring a web design agency, I would ask three questions.

How will you learn who my customers are?

How will we measure success after launch?

Who owns and supports the website afterward?

Those answers tell you far more than a polished portfolio ever will.

When I review a website, I ask three things:

Can visitors tell who it helps within seconds?
Can they see proof that it works?
Can they take the next step easily, especially on mobile?

If any answer is no, the page needs more work. Clarity, trust, and ease drive action.

I do not consider a website finished when it goes live.

That is when we see how real customers use it.

Is the messaging clear? Are pages loading quickly? Are visitors taking the next step?

A launch gives us a starting point.

The results tell us what to improve.

I’ve seen beautiful websites get plenty of compliments and very few customers.

Visitors come with a problem. They want the page to load quickly and the answer to be clear.

If an animation distracts them from taking the next step, I’d rather leave it out.

If I had $10,000 to invest, I would find the bottleneck first.

Are qualified visitors reaching the site but leaving without buying? Fix the site.

Is the site converting well but attracting too few people? Invest in traffic.

Let the data decide where the money goes.

Before hiring someone to build a website, You ask four questions.

Who is it for?
How will we measure success?
Who owns and supports it after launch?
What will we track?

A good-looking site is a start. You need one that helps you make better business decisions.

I would rather send 10 qualified visitors to a website than 1,000 people who will never buy.

Traffic looks impressive on a report.

But if those visitors are not the right customers, more clicks only mean more wasted money.

I measure traffic by what it produces.

09/20/2026

I don't celebrate traffic just because the number went up.

Ten visitors ready to buy can be worth more than 1,000 who were never a fit.

If more clicks aren't bringing in customers, I look at who's arriving before I spend more to bring them in.

An abandoned cart does not always mean a lost customer.

Sometimes life interrupted them. Sometimes they need proof. Sometimes they have a question.

I build each email to answer a different hesitation.

A reminder starts the conversation. Trust helps finish it
