They talk about the complexity of Data Management in the Cloud and having multiple products or vendors. They move to note that "Single-vendor solutions enable enterprises to leverage their cloud investments.".

This is a trend more and more organizations are wanting to move to, but not many Cloud Service Providers have adopted this. They stay silo-ed in their core offering and partner with 3rd party vendors to offer other services such as Data Management, Security, Application Development, DR, etc; which results in multiple vendors, SLAs, and poor/inconsistent coordination.
