"If you can't justify spending money to promote your content, why did you justify spending the time to make it?"
Ouch. 😅
That question, dropped on a podcast to Amanda Natividad (SparkToro), feels like an absolute mic drop for any marketer in the room.
If an idea is worth spending hours researching, drafting, and tweaking, shouldn't it be worth slapping some ad dollars behind it?
At first glance... sure. But when you pull it apart, the logic falls flat:
Creating content is buying a long-term asset. One sharp idea can go on a full tour, powering your website, fueling sales calls, and popping up in AI search answers for years.
Paid promotion is paying temporary rent. The second the ad budget runs out, the engine stops.
Great content doesn't automatically need a paid ad campaign, it just needs the right home!
