ACEWR is a nonprofit organization with a dynamic staff, cooperative membership, coalitions, property owners, camps, hunting clubs, and volunteers, working closely with a variety of partners, wildlife, forestry, and conservation groups across the state. We cater to biologists and environmental educators who look to technology to advance current research, increase efforts, and build on new opportuni
ties to preserve beautiful NE Michigan’s forests and wildlife, providing safe and protected habitats, fighting to eradicate disease, manage herds and forests, and minimize human interference, but promote hunting and fishing tourism, and economic growth. Keep our serene environment a safe and beautiful place to play and work, while protecting it for future generations. We are located in the 4-county area of Alcona, Oscoda, Montmorency, and Alpena, central NE Michigan. It is our privilege and honor to protect our lands and wildlife, promote our rural communities, and continue to sustain the world’s largest source of fresh water, the Great Lakes. Our projects range in scale from working with individual property owners to managing state-wide projects. We work together with community members and partners to facilitate plans and advance efforts through unlimited advanced technologies. Actions that reconnect streams, enhance wildlife habitat, improve forest health, control invasive species, protect water quality and more. Our mission is to teach, preserve, and enhance research and instill conservation ethics in the hearts of young and old, rich and poor. We welcome volunteers, internships, and new organization collaborations. We offer real‐world experiences, networking, and training opportunities in a number areas and industries, developing leaders and champions in our rural communities.
