Tonya Crawford: The Art of Communication

Tonya Crawford: The Art of Communication Art can communicate so many ideas...what are YOU wanting to say? It was a great success all around! I guess I've always loved the art of communication.

My first job in high school was working for McDonald's, where I recognized many opportunities to connect with the community. It began when they introduced a Happy Meal featuring a movie that was playing at the local theater. I shared the idea with the theater, that when children would bring their empty Happy Meal box - along with their ticket-buying parent - the theater would fill that box with po

pcorn for free. The option for free popcorn at the movie printed on the Happy Meal box helped to sell more Happy Meals, popcorn is very inexpensive compared to the 2 movie tickets the theater had just sold, and parents felt they were saving money because they only had to purchase a drink to go with the free popcorn. Although I began as a Drive Thru worker, within 2 years I was doing the marketing for 3 McDonald's restaurants - while still in high school. I have always been an artist, and always found ways to earn a living creating art that would sell. Discovered by Penny Lane Publishing, my images have been reproduced on procucts from greeting cards, flags, dishware, wallpaper, textiles, etc. Here in my studio on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, I have begun creating tshirts for my family and friends. I will be introducing my designs as I create them and will be filling orders. Because they are MY unique designs, they can be tweaked to refect YOUR particular needs. So tell me, what are you wanting to communicate?

NATO seems to be sending the message that they don't "need" the United States.

That's interesting because cutting nearly $900B from our federal spending overnight would be epic.

I might put this on Marketplace, but thought I would offer it up to people I know first. Last year I sold one of my favorite paintings to finance a new business venture. I had gotten myself a Cricut heat press to make some tshirts for myself. I created the artwork and had someone on Etsy print the transfers for me to press. One pressing and I knew that was not going to work - I was going to need a printer to make my own transfers. That's when I sold that painting (Thank you again, Trent Litchfield ❤️). I invested in a printer and a clamshell press and I started practicing to get it consistently right. Business took off and I left my marketing job to do this full time. I can't even tell you how much I love it!

So here's what is happening. My original printer is still perfect. It's an Epson 2800 Ecotank, bought new and only used for sublimation printing. The only problem I have ever had with it was due to my own ignorance. When the waste ink maintenance box was full, it took a week to get a new one to replace it. I bought an extra to have on hand so I would never lose time like that again. Problem solved. It has run perfectly, prints beautifully since April of last year, and I have had NO problems with it, ever. I now have a new printer. I had such a great experience with my 2800, that I upgraded to the Epson 15000. The ONLY reason I did this was because this new one will print up to 13"x19" and my first one only went up to 8.5"x14". That is totally ok for a smaller scale venture, but for everything I need to press now I really needed the larger image capability.

SO, my Epson 2800 is not being used. It is FULL of sublimation ink, a brand new waste ink maintenance box (took over a year of printing CONSTANTLY to fill the first one), plus a spare when THIS one gets full. I paid $268.99 on April 29, 2022 and it has been lovingly cared for ever since. It's an absolute gem, but business volume demands I need a larger one. It shouldn't sit here, unused, so I decided to sell it. I'm asking $200 for it. If you have been thinking of doing sublimation printing yourself, and you live nearby, this is a GREAT opportunity. It's ready to go, you just need a heat press to transfer the image to your garment. I even have a box of 8.5"x14" paper to get you started. It's literally all you need.

If you DON'T have a heat press, I have my Cricut Easy Press 2 available also. It's the larger, 12"x10" press, and in the Daybreak color scheme - basically all white. I used it for literally two months before I bought my clamshell press. I've kept it for a backup, but I have other options now and don't need it. I paid $199 for it on April 4, 2022 at Walmart. It's now $179 at that same Walmart. A great starter or hobby heat press, it's just that I need more. I will be asking $100.

If you, or someone you know, has been thinking about sublimation printing, this could be perfect. I will help in any way I can with advice to get you set up and running. It's been so much fun for me. ❤️

Have I accomplished my goals for 2022? No. But did I eat right and exercise? Also no. But did I mature rationally as a human being? Not in the least.

Bring on 2023!

Newest design. I have more to post, been in Facebook Jail for a month. I'll post as I have time.😊
